Professionalism is very important as it showcases to the world your level of seriousness. While starting out on the blogger platform, the default address of my blog contained the “.BlogSpot” subscript attached. Even though many bloggers blogging on blogspot.com still maintain the subscript,
however, I consider such practice unprofessional. Apart from the unprofessionalism of this practice, since your blog URL is expected to be short so users or visitors can remember it with ease, the BlogSpot subscript makes it lengthy.
Setting up a custom domain for your blogger blog is an easy task. Even a novice on the blogger platform can be able to carry out the steps in this tutorial with ease. This tutorial is mainly for Godaddy account holders.
Follow the steps below
First Step:
After logging into your blogger account, click on settings then under settings click basic. Then you add a custom domain in the field provided. In my case mine is www.specs9ja.com. image below.
Remember to enter your domain name with the WWW. Now you can save.
Step 2.
Log into your Godaddy account then click on my account
The next screen displays your domain. Just click on the "DNS" option.
Next display screen looks like the one below. Click “ADD” found below the displayed page
After clicking the “ADD” option, a window display like the one below. Insert the four IPs under A(host) as below.
216.239.32.21
216.239.34.21
216.239.36.21
216.239.38.21
The window shows how the first IP was entered. The same procedure should be done for the other three. Ensure you click the save button.
Note: You will see an error message, just ignore it. the above picture has no error message because the custom domain has been setup. skip to step 3.
Next Step: 3
The highlighted information in red is what you will want to enter into GoDaddy in the next steps. This highlighted information’s are unique to everyone so you don’t need to use the one in this tutorial.

Step 3: From the highlighted information in the above image, we add a CNAME record in our GODADDY acount. see picture below. Remember to remove the "@" in the host entery.
click save.
Next: you will do the same to info below the one you just entered. see picture.
Click Save.
Now, go back to your blogger acount and click save under settings then basic. The whole process can take some time to reflect, however, in some cases it happens instantly. so, keep trying.
