It’s been few weeks after the unveiling of note eight by Samsung. However, Apple has also made available their iPhone 8 and eight-plus as a competition for the note 8. This time around, Apple phones are less expensive than Samsung’s.
Further, even though Samsung phones of recent have not been slow, however, much of their attention was directed towards improving the battery capacity of their devices. So, they are not in a hurry to get things done. But in the case of note 8, Samsung dealt with both the battery capacity issue and processor speed. In fact, note 8 is faster than even galaxy s8. The 6GB RAM of note eight has given it an edge over galaxy s8, so, with note eight you can run more background applications.
In a YouTube video, note 8 came first place followed by iPhone 8 in an app race. Even though the lead might not be noticeable in real life application, but we were able to prove note eight is faster than iPhone 8. The whole aim of the test was to try and imitate the real world to measure how both phones will perform. The method is not perfect actually, but it gives us a clue. From the video, iPhone 8 narrowly wins the first round when apps such as the Facebook app, Instagram app, and Photoshop mix were opened; however, the note 8 regains momentum and won when the apps were opened the second time.
Without a doubt, iPhone exhibited good performance during the test, but Apple has limited the background features for apps. The note 8 was able to beat iPhone because it has enough space for background processes. It kept all those apps initially opened during the first test in its active memory so on opening the second time; it took it just a few seconds to completely load them. It's impressive at maintaining suspended apps on the background, and the battery life is still above average.
Note 8 was able to beat or match iPhone 8 in speed due to its vast capacity to keep background processes longer. This is, however, an improvement from Samsung. This test implies that, when an app is opened on both Samsung galaxy note8 and iPhone 8 for the first time, iPhone performs better while due to limited background memory, Samsung performs better when those same apps are opened the second time.
The test carried out was done using Samsung galaxy note 8 with QUALCOMM Snapdragon 835 processor, not Samsung’s Exynos SoC processor and iPhone 8 A11 bionic processor.
All in all, Note 8's imposing spec sheet — most notably the 6GB of RAM — proves that, although such differences become null in actual, real-life usage, internal components still matter, independently of how a manufacturer fine-tunes them.
I prefer Samsung Galaxy note eight than iPhone 8 because note 8 is faster and it’s got an S pen coupled with other impressive features.
